International Day of Forests

March 21 is the annual International Day of Forests, which has been established by the UN General Assembly since 2012.

Every year it takes place under different slogans. In 2019, the International Day of Forests is held under the slogan “Forests and Education” with the message “Learn to love forest”. On this day in Ukraine, the annual All-Ukrainian action of the State Forest Resources Agency “The Future of the Forest is in Your Hands” started. This action lasts during the spring silvicultural forest restoration work on last year’s log cabins. The purpose of the action is to educate the younger generation’s respectful attitude to nature, compliance with the rules of behavior in the forest.

On April 2, within the framework of vocational training and on the occasion of the All-Ukrainian campaign “The Future of the Forest is in Your Hands”, students majoring in “Forestry” and “Garden and Park Management” of the Faculty of Natural Sciences took part in the planting of pine ordinary seedlings.

The participation in such promotions for students of our Faculty is not only a strong social position, but also the opportunity to gain professional experience in the chosen profession.
