On March 28, women’s basketball teams identified winners of the “Sports Festival” program.

Basketball competition was preceded by the opening of this tournament. Fans and participants of the competition liked the performance of the dance team “QUEST” of the Starobilsk Secondary School No. 4; and the song was performed by students of the ER IEB Yelyzaveta Bespala and Dmytro Voronkov.

The university team was well prepared for the tournament.  The girls sought to outplay last year’s winner – Lysychansk Pedagogical College with the help of a new team member Tetiana Kvasova (IPP).

And they succeeded in this. But in the first match they played against the combined team of colleges and the Regional Center for Vocational Education of Starobilsk. The opponent tried to resist only in the first quarter and lost with the score of 5: 0. And then they “showered”, each time passing an opponent to their basket, and as a result –  defeat with a score of 38:2.

Later was the game of contenders for the victory of “Univer” and Lysychansk Pedagogical College. Only the beginning of the game was intriguing, when each team sought to seize the initiative. “Univer” worked better, they held the ball securely and quickly moved from defense to attack with a positive result. Iryna Pliasulia acted well in the attack, who became the top scorer of the tournament.

She was well assisted by Yana Kagala (IPP), successfully carrying out command actions. Alina Oliinyk (IEB), Polina Burian (FNS), Yelyzaveta Liaschenko and Veronika Mykolaenko (ICSTT) played well on the selection of the ball. This game of “Univer” did not give chances to the Lysychansk team, and they lost with the score of 38:11. Having scored 4 points out of 4 possible, “Univer” won first place.

The second place was played by the Lysychansk Pedagogical College and the combined team of colleges and the Regional Center for Vocational Education. For the first 3 minutes of the game, the Lysychansk players owned the initiative, playing reliably both in defense and in attack, and won with a score of 23:0. The victory brought the Lysychansk Pedagogical College to the second place. The third is for the old fellows. The best player was recognized Yana Kagala (IPP).

The women’s team of the ER IPES, as in the previous two competitions in futsal and volleyball, did not appear at the tournament. The question remains, why future physical education specialists do not demonstrate their skills at the university competitions.
