“Poetry of the Peoples of the World”

Today Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University hosted a contest “Poetry of the Peoples of the World.”

Like last year, the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​organized a competition of readers among 9-11th grade pupils of general educational institutions in the Luhansk region. The qualifying round was held in three sections. During the first section 11th grade pupils read poems in English; during the second one – 10th grade pupils read poems in English; and the third section was the most diverse, the lyrics sounded in German, French and Spanish.

After the selection, 18 readers, who were chosen by the jury during the first stage, became happy finalists. In the finale, each participant or duet had to not only read a poem in a foreign language, but also convey the mood of poetry.

The finalists were greeted by the Rector of the University Serhii Savchenko, the Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​Svitlana Shekhavtsova and the chairman of the Trade Union Volodymyr Moroz.

At the end of the event, each of the readers received a certificate of participation in the contest, and there were a lot of winners, as it was impossible to choose one. So, the winners of the contest in various nominations received certificates and gifts provided by the Primary Trade Union Organization of LTSNU. And the teachers who trained their pupils for the performance, received diplomas from Svitlana Shekhavtsova.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University thanks all the participants of the contest, wishes them victories and further creative achievements.
