“Luhansk Region – the Dawn of Ukraine”

On March 15, the regional festival of amateur performances “Luhansk Region – the Dawn of Ukraine” was held.

The festival-contest of art masters and lovers of folk art of the Luhansk region was held in the district House of Culture named after Taras Shevchenko. The main goal of the event is the development of folk art and multi-genre amateur art, the revival of the Ukrainian consciousness in the Luhansk region, love of country, preservation of peace and harmony in our society. The slogan of the competition – “With faith in the future.”

Students and employees of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University Iryna Borovenska and Yulia Malko took part in the non-competitive program of the festival – they welcomed the visiting guests with the Japanese tea ritual Sado.

The festival was attended by the leaders of the district, institutions, organizations, cultural workers, masters of folk art and the Starobilsk community.

The competent jury composed of representatives of the Management of Culture, Nationalities and Religions of the Luhansk Regional State Administration and the Luhansk Regional Center of Folk Arts arrived to evaluate the contest. The chairman of the jury this year was Alina Adamchuk.

The gala concert will take place on June 1, 2019 at the Annual Open Regional Festival “Luhansk Region is Ukraine” in the city of Severodonetsk.
