Thematic photo contest
13.3.2019
A thematic photo contest “Zore moia vechirniaia” (My evening dawn) was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
Within the framework of the Shevchenko’s week, the results of the thematic photo contest “Zore moia vechirniaia …” (My evening down), which was held on the occasion of the 205th anniversary of the Great Kobzar’s birth, were summed up.
The competition was attended by 25 teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism; the Educational and Research Institute of Economy and Business; the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications; the Faculty of Natural Sciences; the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College; the Lysychansk Pedagogical College.
The theme of the photo contest aroused great interest: the majority of participants submitted not one photo, but combined their works into thematic cycles under the original titles.
The participants of the competition were able to see the real poetry and beauty of the shores of Aidar and Seversky Donets, the steppe spaces of Starobilsk, even ordinary city streets and – which is unbelievable! – railway tracks and industrial buildings of Lysychansk, illuminated with pink highlights of the setting sun. Judging by the names of the photographs, the poetic lines inspired to look for beauty nearby, in everyday, ordinary things. The works of the contestants were interested in unexpected perspectives of the image, which witnessed the creative thinking of the authors. Among the variety of works were lyrical, philosophical, modern ones. There was not one that would leave indifferent.
The winner of the contest became a student of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Anastasia Kuptsova, who not only originally interpreted the theme of the contest in the photo work called “Confession”, but also presented her own poem to the jury, which became a poetic response to Shevchenko’s lines.
The second place was taken by Yulia Dybka, a student of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, with a series of lyrical photos “Pink Sunset for Two Persons” and Olena Holod, a student of Lysychansk Pedagogical College, with the original triptych “My evening dawn… Lysychansk”.
The third place was taken by students of the Lysychansk Pedagogical College Polina Romicheva and Diana Smirnova, a student of Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College Viktoria Soukryko and a teacher of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Nadiia Bezhodova.
It should be noted that students of Lysychansk Pedagogical College took an active part in the photo contest.
Thank the participants of the competition! Congratulations to the winners! We are waiting for new creative works!
