University Day at the ICA

On March 1, the Institute of Culture and Arts celebrated the 98th anniversary of the founding of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
Several events were timed to the holiday date: an exhibition of works by students of the Department of Fine and Decorative Arts, a curatorial hour dedicated to the history and modernity of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, a presentation of a student commercial, and a festive concert.
The concert was attended by the best students majoring in “Musical Arts”, “Audiovisual Arts and Production”, “Choreography”. Also teachers pleased with their participation in the concert. Yevgen Dudnik, Associate Professor of the Department of Musical Arts and Choreography, Merited Arts Worker of Ukraine, performed with his popular project “Live Drums Show”.
Also this year, the Institute of Culture and Arts revived the activities of the jazz ensemble “Tradition”, which was founded in 2004. It was time to celebrate its 15th anniversary. The artistic director of the ensemble is Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Musical Arts and Choreography, winner of international competitions Oleksandr Plohotniuk. The performance of this ensemble was an elegant and highlight of the concert.
The Director of the Institute of Culture and Arts Nelia Nazarenko congratulated all those present on the holiday and wished her native university peace and prosperity. The Faculty of Foreign Languages also joined the congratulations: warm words and an interesting story of acquaintance with the university were heard from Olga Vernik, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs. Diplomas and certificates were awarded to teachers of the Institute.
The concert was completed by a teacher of the Department of Musical Arts and Choreography, winner of national and international contests, participant of the X-Factor TV show Larysa Borisenko with her own song “Krai” (The Land).
The full hall, solemn atmosphere and high professionalism of the performers turned the first day of spring into a real celebration of beauty and art.
