There were awarded honorary titles on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of the founding of the University.
The elite and pride of each educational institution are its teachers. They not only give students wisdom and knowledge, but also the future of the University depends on their skills and competencies. The achievements of teachers are a guarantee of the success of higher education institutions, since they are the ones who take our University to a new level.
On the occasion of the celebration of the 98th anniversary of founding of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, the Academic Council decided to confer honorary titles and present honorary awards to teachers for conscientious work and a significant contribution to the development of national education.
This year, the title of “Honorary Professor of LTSNU” was awarded to the Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and General Linguistics, Acting Head of the Education Department Valentyna Lesnova, Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Agronomy S.V. Vovk; Associate Professor of the Department of World Literature and Russian Linguistics S.A. Shpetna.
Valentyna Volodymyrivna Lesnova graduated from the Pedagogical Institute in 1986. Then she began her pedagogical activity, working as a teacher of the Ukrainian language and literature in the secondary school. A year later, she returned to her native university as an assistant at the Ukrainian Language Department. The Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, researcher in the field of dialectology known in Ukraine and abroad, representative of the Luhansk dialectological school has devoted more than 30 years to a dedicated work in the scientific and pedagogical field.
A graduate of a higher education institution in 1985, Serhii Volodymyrovych Vovk, became an assistant at the Zoology Department in 1988, subsequently received the academic title of associate professor, worked as the deputy dean of the Natural-Geographical Faculty for educational work, and worked as the head of the Department and executive secretary of the Admission Committee. Today, the Associate Professor of the Department of Biology and Agronomy Serhii Vovk is the author of more than 170 scientific and educational works.
The professional activity of the former graduate of our University in 1981, Svitlana Anatoliivna Shpetna, has been associated with the Luhansk National University for more than 30 years. Having received the degree of Candidate of Sciences and the academic title of Associate Professor, she became a highly qualified teacher. She worked as a head of the Department for a long time.
The title “Honorary Doctor of LTSNU” was awarded to the employee of the Czech Development Agency Jan Peyril for establishing international cooperation, significant contribution to the development of the material and technical base, formation and popularization of a decent international image of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. With his support, the Czech Development Agency is still helping our University to improve its material and technical base.
The title “Honorary Worker of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” was conferred to Mykhailo Stepanovych Sapizhak, Director of the Brianka College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University; Deputy Director for Teaching and Training of the Regional Center for Vocational Education of LTSNU Viktor Tkachenko; and the Deputy Director for Educational and Production Work of the Regional Center for Vocational Education of LTSNU (Starobilsk branch) Andrii Sergiiovych Gapotchenko.
“Honorary diploma of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” was awarded to the senior teacher of the Department of Landscape Gardening and Ecology, Deputy Dean for Academic Work of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Olga Petrivna Gubska, who devoted to teaching more than 30 years.
