Internet TV “University Wave”

Internet TV “University Wave” began to work at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University is located in the city of Starobilsk, and despite the difficulties of being forced to evacuate, our University continues to evolve: educational buildings are being renovated, new classrooms, hostels for teachers and students are being opened. And taking into consideration the difficult socio-political situation in the region, there was also the need to create a powerful information center at the University. This platform was the online radio station “University Wave”, which began its work in May 2017. During the existence of online radio, the employees of the Marketing Department together with the students majoring in Journalism managed to fill the content of the channel with educational, musical, entertainment and cultural-historical programs. But, of course, the main product is information programs, among which are “News” and “Interviews”.

The Information Technology Center did not stop there, and evidence of this is the launch of Internet television “University Wave” at the Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (http://tv.luguniv.edu.ua/), which began work in the test mode since February 19.

“Such a project for the staff of our Information Technology Center is not new, because in Luhansk we have developed and operated a television studio, and now we are restoring it here, in Starobilsk city,” – the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Meniailenko said.  

The staff of “University Wave” aims to prepare and distribute high-quality, up-to-date information about activities and educational services provided by our University, prompt coverage of events taking place at the University, support and implementation of students’ creative projects, broadcasting video lectures, etc.

Internet TV will expand the capabilities of the online-radio “University Wave”, an active participant in which is the initiative student youth. It will also allow practicing journalists to be able to perfectly master professional skills and tools for working in the editorial offices of various media, as well as professional experts focused on creating high-quality content in the context of the rapid development of communication tools.

The main page site has several headings: live, news, interviews. But this is only the beginning, because the University Television is a new project that is now being launched in test mode. On March 1, the 98th anniversary of the University founding, an online broadcast of the celebrations will take place. Thanks to the live broadcast the “University Wave” team will allow the viewer from anywhere in the world not only to hear, but also to see the live broadcast and feel the emotions that boil during the celebration.
