International Mother Language Day

The University traditionally celebrated the International Mother Language Day.

On February 21, students and teachers of LTSNU gathered at the university scientific library to talk with graduates of different years of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications. Famous writers and novice poets Vasyl Goloborodko, Vasyl Starun, Liuba Yakymchuk, Tania Stus, Yevheniia Senik, Olena Olshanska and Maksym Chumak shared their thoughts about what the Ukrainian language is for them, addressed the audience with audio and video messages.

The meeting was decorated with a speech by poet, journalist, translator Mykola Baidiuk, graduate of our University in 2000, and his wife Oksana Chaika. There were sounded the original poems, translations of poems by V. Mayakovsky, A. Pushkin, Garcia Lorca, as well as multi-genre musical compositions.

This meeting, which was full of pleasant memories, inspired its participants to further creative communication.
