On the guard of the eastern gates of Ukraine
21.2.2019
On February 21, the third-year students of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications congratulated the young soldiers of the eastern gates of Ukraine.
The students of the Faculty congratulated the young employees of military division No. 9938 of the Luhansk frontier detachment named after the Hero of Ukraine, Colonel Yevgen Pikus, with taking the oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
This event was symbolically held on the occasion of International Mother Language Day. Since Luhansk region is the eastern gate of Ukraine, border guards will stand on the defense of borders, and philology students will guard the native word.
As a gift to the servicemen, the language specialists brought the cultural literary multimedia project “Literary Map of Luhansk Region”, disproving the misconception about the isolation of the border from the center, the uneven development of various regions.
Students spoke using the words of famous writers, and the credo symbols of each of them created a literary portrait of the Ukrainian-speaking Donbas. This vision of the cultural life of the region denies the view that during the period of globalization, the information war, the situation in Ukraine is in a state of spiritual enlightenment. We rewrite the future together with invisible threads – a single nation with common traditions, faith, language.
