All-Ukrainian Mathematics Olympiad

The Department of Algebra and System Analysis of LTSNU conducted the first stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Mathematics Olympiad.

On February 8, the first round of the All-Ukrainian Mathematical Olympiad among students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University took place.

The Olympiad was held in the city of Rubizhne on the basis of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies. Students of all courses and master students were invited to participate. Participants solved problems of mathematical analysis, general algebra, number theory, elementary geometry, combinatorics, and probability theory.

The results of the participation of our students at the Mathematics Olympiad are as follows:

• I place was shared by Yulia Liguta, third-year student majoring in “Secondary Education (Mathematics. Computer Sciece)” and Anna Krivushina, third-year student majoring in “Secondary Education (Mathematics. Computer Science)”;
• II place – Eugenia Poturinska, master student majoring in “Secondary Education (Mathematics)”,
• III place – Maria Shevchenko, first-year student majoring in “Secondary Education (Mathematics. Physics)”.
