Seminar for French teachers

At the Faculty of Foreign Languages, a seminar “Modern Problems of Teaching French in Poltava and Poltava Region” was held for teachers of the French language of secondary schools and teachers of our university.

This event was organized on February 13, 2019 due to the arrival of Timote de Maillard, the director of the organization Alliance Francaise, a teacher of French as a foreign language at the University of Sorbonne, the Higher Business School of Paris (the first European business school).

 Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Shekhavtsova S.O. and Associate Professor of the Department of Romance-Germanic Philology, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, leading specialist in French language Shapovalova L.V. made a welcoming speech to the participants of the seminar. A second-year student of the specialty “Secondary education. Language and Literature (French, English)”, Majorenko Vera, presented her scientific work in French.

Thanks to Timote de Maillard, Director of Alliance Française, a teacher of French as a foreign language at the University of Sorbonne, the Higher Business School of Paris (the first European business school), the meeting contributed the popularization of the French language in Poltava, Poltava region; cooperation between the cultural center “Alliance Française”, teachers of the French language of secondary schools and teachers of our university. The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere, such important issues as the importance of involving students in learning French, partnership between schools and international cooperation were discussed. At the end of the seminar, all participants received certificates.
