The teaching staff of the Department of Algebra and Systems Analysis conducts career guidance work in schools of the Luhansk region.

One of the main tasks of the Department is to conduct career guidance among schoolchildren. Such work allows attracting students to enter the mathematical specialties of our University. An important part of the career guidance work of the Department is the participation of its teachers in various activities taking place in the schools of the region.

So, on January 20, 2019, on the basis of the Severodonetsk School No. 14 and Starobilsk School No. 4, the first round of the third (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Mathematics Competition was held, in which the best mathematicians among pupils of 7– 11 grades took part, winners of the II (district) stage of the Olympiads. Within the framework of the career guidance work among school graduates, there were meetings of participants of the Olympiad with representatives of the Department of Algebra and Systems Analysis: assistant of the Department E. A. Toichkina in the Severodonetsk School No. 14 and senior laboratory assistant of the Department Yu. V. Samokhina in the Starobilsk School No. 4. The jury was chaired by Dr. Volodymyr Khmel, Associate Professor of the Department of Algebra and Systems Analysis, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Economy and Business.

The meetings were held to disseminate among future school graduates the information on the possibility of entering Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, in particular, the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies. The employees of the Department introduced students to the order of admission to the University, areas of training and specialties, professional orientation and qualifications of graduates. All eleventh graders were handed memos and booklets for applicants.

We wish the participants of the Olympiad success, and the winners – to adequately represent Luhansk region at the final IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Mathematics Olympiad.
