University Administration meeting

Today the University held a scheduled meeting of the University Administration.

The agenda addressed the issue of the work of the Marketing Department.

Having heard and discussed the report of the head of the Marketing Department I.V. Bakhmet, the University Administration noted that the main goal of the department’s work is to increase competitiveness in the educational services market, to form an objective view and to maintain an objective image of the University.

The main tasks of the Marketing Department are to organize a comprehensive study and analysis of the domestic and foreign educational services markets, the prospects for their development in order to obtain information on the relationship between supply and demand, the level of prices for educational services; organization of work on the analysis of the effectiveness of promotional activities in the media, the most effective forms and methods of advertising of educational services provided in the State Institution “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University”; development and placement of information material, audio and video works on the official website, on social networks and YouTube channel; distribution of promotional products during career guidance among graduates of institutions of secondary education, vocational education, higher education of I-II accreditation levels and other interested persons, applicants within the region, Ukraine and abroad; preparation and placement of information materials and advertising in the media, as well as in reference books and data banks of various institutions.

In the academic year 2017-2018, the marketing policy was aimed at shaping the image of LTSNU thanks to the media, on advertising campaigns; planning and implementation of career guidance; preparation and participation in the IX International Exhibition “Modern Educational Institutions – 2018”; production and distribution of advertising and printing products, videos and interviews to highlight the activities of the University; site upgrades and the like.

As part of the advertising and career guidance work, employees of the Marketing Department took part in the regional career guidance events: “Professional Palette” (Severodonetsk), “Fair of Professions” (Starobilsk), meetings with the Donetsk Regional Center for Educational Quality Assessment.

The information and advertising policy provided for cooperation with the media in placing news releases about events at LTSNU, with TV channels about advertising and running lines, television reports, as well as covering the university’s activities on the official website of the University, YouTube channel and social networks Facebook and Instagram.

The improvement of advertising activity was the work of the online radio station “University Wave”, the content of which is filled with educational, musical and entertainment, cultural, historical, informational and educational programs.

During the year, the department staff worked to maintain and update the content of the site. Thus, according to the uniRank University Ranking 2018, our University took the 1st place among universities of the Luhansk region, and it took the 15th place among Ukrainian universities.

So, in general, the work of the Marketing Department is carried out at the proper level.

At the same time, there are a number of factors in the work of the Marketing Department that hinder effective and successful work that require solutions: improvement of cooperation with university departments for timely updating of information and coverage of events on the university website, university online radio, social pages, YouTube channel; insufficient funding for organizing and conducting advertising campaigns, including for announcements on television channels, radio stations, newspapers; employees of the Department need advanced training, because they have little experience in the field of marketing.
