New Year basketball tournament

The basketball players of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University finish this year on a positive note.

On December 23, in the sports hall of our University, the Department of Family, Youth and Sports of the Starobilsk DSA together with the city organization “Spartak” held a New Year basketball tournament.

Five teams in a circular pattern determined the winner of the tournament. Our boys, led by a great basketball lover, teacher of the SHPC Yevgen Reshetilo, in the first fight overwhelmed the team of the village of Pidgorivka with a score of 31:18. Without much effort they beat the young basketball players from the youth club “Orlyonok” – 30:20. The last two matches were held in a tense struggle and the winner was determined mainly in the last quarter. A team that has more strength left at the end of the match and has achieved the desired goal – victory. Thus, “Univer” defeated the team from Polovinkino with a score of 18:14, and then beat the team “STB” with a score of 26:18.

Our guys in four games scored four victories and climbed to the top step of the podium. The second place was taken by the team of the Polovynkino village, the third was Starobelsk team “STB”. Our team was awarded with a commemorative cup, a diploma, and the players were awarded with medals.
