The open basketball tournament was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. 

Six teams fought for the Cup of the University Administration. The team of the Children’s and Youth Club “Eaglet” was invited to the competition for the purpose of carrier guidance among pupils. The players of this team showed a good game and learn about the everyday life of students in terms of organizing their leisure time with means of physical culture and sports after intense training sessions.

The championship games were held in a tense emotional struggle, each of the teams sought only victory. The teams in their physical and technical training were almost equal.

At first, the competitions were held in groups. In the Group A, the repeated winners of the university competitions played confidently. The team of teachers of the Alma Mater university was led by the Trade Union Chairman Volodymyr Moroz, who played without substitutions and successfully attacked the opponent’s basket. First, the favorites beat the youth of the Regional Center for Vocational Education with a score of 31:21 and later the university’s student team with a score of 27:14. The second ticket from the group to the final four was won by the team “Univer”.

In group “B”, the team of the Faculty of Natural Sciences reliably played, which at first beat the college team with a score of 23:19 in a tense struggle, and then defeated our guests “Eaglet” with a score of 34:9. The second place to the final was won by college team.

In the first round of the final games, Alma Mater confidently scored their victories over the College of LTSNU with a score of 31:25, and FNS team beat the team “Univer” with a score of 32:25.

The next match was for the third place ended with a score of 24:11 in favor of the college team.

 In the main match for the first place, the team “Alma Mater” played against the FNS. The experience did its job, and the team “Alma Mater” won the championship with a score of 31:16. The team included Volodymyr Moroz, Yevgen Reshetilo, Andrii Nosal, Vitalii Soldatenko, Dmytro Karpenko, Oleksandr Livatsky and Petro Yaroshenko.

The award ceremony was held by university Vice-Rector Oleksandr Babichev. Traditionally, teams were presented with sweet prizes, and the winners received a Cup and a diploma of the University Administration, the teams of the prizewinners were awarded with diplomas. The best scorer and player was Oleksandr Kulachko.
