Participation in the legal event

Staff and students of the ER IHIRSPS took part in the legal event “It is worth knowing! Protection of rights and interests.”

Every year in Ukraine from November 25 to December 10, the All-Ukrainian action “16 days against violence” takes place. On November 29, within the framework of the project “Promoting sustainable development and rallying communities affected by the conflict in Donbas”, the legal event “It is worth knowing! Protection of rights and interests” was held with the financial support of the Japanese government.

The event was attended by staff and students of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The event united into a single circle all the services that deal with the problems of violence: the Department of Legal Information and Advice of the Starobilsk Local Center, the Starobilsk Center of Social Services for Families, Children and Youth, the Service for Children’s Affairs of Starobilsk District State Administration, the Main Territorial Department of Justice in the Luhansk region, the prevention sector of the Starobilsk District Police Department, the Family, Youth and Sports Department, the sports complex Orlyonok, the Education Department of Starobilsk District State Administration.

During the work, the features and types of domestic violence, the psychological characteristics of women and child victims of domestic violence were examined and ways to prevent an important social problem were outlined. Students and all those present had the opportunity to ask questions to specialists.
