Honoring Memory

On November 23, an event dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Holodomor Remembrance Day was held at the “Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College of LTSNU”.

During the event, students recalled that the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine was one of the largest humanitarian disasters in the history of mankind, the most terrible crime of the regime that killed millions of Ukrainians. The tragedy of the famine was silenced for many decades, so the authorities tried to hide the truth.

Today it is recognized by law that the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine is a genocide of the Ukrainian people, and the historical fact of this crime is recognized in official documents of most countries of the world.

Interesting facts, touching lines of works, impressive documentary film shots did not leave anyone indifferent.

As a sign of reverence for the blessed memory of the Holodomor victims in Ukraine, a symbolic memorial candle was lit. All those present had the opportunity to watch an exhibition of drawings devoted to the topic of the Holodomor, prepared by freshmen.

At the end of the event, the students cut the loaf as a symbol of the prosperity and generosity of the Ukrainian people and hope for a happy and peaceful future.
