“Candle of memory …”

An educational hour on the topic “Candle of memory …” took place in the College of LTSNU.

Famine … This terrible word brings us back to the distant 1932-1933. The Ukrainian people, in sorrow and grief, bow their heads low in memory of the millions of its victims, condemning the creators of this black page in the history of Ukraine.

On November 21, on the anniversary of the Holodomor and the memory of its victims, a teacher at the College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (the discipline “History of Ukraine”) Olena Kovpak held the educational hour on the topic “Candle of memory …”. All those present honored the memory of the dead with a minute of silence, recalled the tragic pages of the terrible events of the Ukrainian history of the distant 1932-1933, in particular, and the facts of the Holodomor in our region. After the event, all those present were treated with a fragrant loaf.

No matter how scary it was, over time, witnesses to the tragic events of the Great Famine will fade away. Therefore, it is worth doing everything so that our descendants, especially young people, know about those sorrows, remember about them in order that such a terrible past will never happen again.
