On November 15, a Viennese Ball was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology.
The event was devoted to the competition “Hello, We Are Looking for Talents” and the Dedication to Students. Vira Pushko, Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work, started the ball, and the hosts were presenters and entertainers.
The purpose of the event was to remind students what the term “ball” means, how to behave and, most importantly, why in the past each girl dreamed of attending the ball, and men considered it a pleasant duty to accompany their ladies.
The presenters recalled the city of Vienna, which is rightly called the birthplace of the waltz. After all, it was here that light and beautiful waltz melodies were born that filled the whole world.
The dress code of the ball was rather strict and conservative. It also emphasized status and style. It was an evening dress for women, and a dress coat, tuxedo or military uniform for men.
Among the honored guests of the ball were Oleksandr Babichev, Dmytro Uzhchenko, Leonid Vakhovskyi, vice-rectors for scientific and pedagogical work, directors of institutes and deans of faculties, military personnel, teachers, students of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University, pupils and teachers of the Starobilsk Music School of Arts.
The magnificent and varied dance program was full of romance and chic – polonaise, waltz, polka, tango, foxtrot and much more. During the event, the musical masterpieces of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Joseph Haydn, Frédéric Chopin and others sounded.
Also, at the Viennese ball the teachers Oksana Kovalenko (accordion), Irina Serik (bayan) performed “Fairy-Tale Dance”, “Prelude”. The teacher of the Regional Center for Vocational Education Mykhailo Tretyak sang the romance “I Can’t Sleep, I’m at Midnight.” The collective “Inspiration” danced a waltz, which subordinates people of different eras and nationalities. Representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and teachers with their ladies danced “Polonaise”, “Waltz”, “Polka”.
The first-year students of various specialties demonstrated the trailers of the films “Cinderella”, “War and Peace”, “Gone With the Wind”, “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”, “Beauty and the Beast”, and also performed scenes from these works.
