On November 7-8, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Seminar “Competent Measurement of the Implementation of New Curriculum Subjects in the Technological Cycle” was held in the city of Sviatogirsk.
During the workshop, master classes, exchange of experience, interesting exhibitions of the works of students, teachers of labor training and masters of Donetsk region were organized.
The workshop organized two open panels. The first open panel discussed the implementation of new curricula for labor education and technology.
In the second open panel discussion “Pupils’ Olympiad as an Engine for the Development of Technological Education”, the head of the Department of Production Technologies and Vocational Education, Associate Professor Viktor Burdun took part.
He, as the head of last year’s IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Student Labor Training Olympiad, summed up the Olympiad, spoke about the features of this stage of the Olympiad, its landmark milestones and focused the attention of the seminar participants on some aspects that should be paid attention to when preparing students and teams for the current Olympiad .
He also drew attention to the fact that during all Olympiad pupils developed certain competences, and the last two years when choosing practical tasks for the Olympiad, the emphasis was on developing pupils’ entrepreneurial competence, which is one of the basic competencies defined by the Ministry of Education and science Ukraine.
The pupils had to pick up and manufacture such products that would be attractive, high-quality, aesthetic and have a certain demand from the consumer, should have seen the value of their own products in terms of their evaluation by the consumer. In addition, they needed to make sure that, with certain skills, imagination and perseverance, you can achieve success in any business.
An auction of the works of participants in the Olympiad was organized on Facebook in the “Forge of Talents” group. The proceeds from the auction are planned to be spent on the purchase of good materials for the quality of the next Olympiad. The year before last, the proceeds from the auction were spent on charity.
Last year, the publishing house “Morning” published an album with photos of the works of participants in the Olympiad.
All this contributed to the improvement of the image of the Olympiad and the subject “Labor Education” in general.
