University Table Tennis Championships

On November 7, the University Table Tennis Championships among women and men was held.
Our university is improving the material and technical base for carrying out physical culture and sports activities. This academic year, the University purchased sports equipment worth 35, 000 UAH; the repair work were began in the sports building to restore changing rooms with showers and toilets. The University received four new tables for table tennis.
Among women, Alyona Stukachova from the College of LTSNU did not give any chances to her rivals, defeating them 2-0 and confidently rose to the highest step of the podium. But for the second place, the intense struggle was waged by Iryna Pliasulia (ER IEB) and Maryna Riabenko (SHPC). To determine the winner, they played three games. In the decisive game Iryna Pliasulia won with a minimum score and took the second place, Maryna Riabenko took the third place. In total, there were six participants. It is hoped that the next competition, which will be held in December, will gather more participants.
In the individual championship among men, 24 tennis players competed for medals. The participant had to play seven victorious matches in order to reach the first place. The physical education teacher Petro Yaroshenko coped with this test best of all, played seven games and all victories with a score of 2:0. Bohdan Vialyi (ER ICSTT) was second, who lost only to the winner. And Oleksandr Krokhmalyov (RCVE) closed the top three, who defeated Evgen Masliyov.
All participants expressed a desire to see each other as soon as possible at the next New Year’s table tennis tournament.
