Anniversary event

On the eve of the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language, a literary and musical event dedicated to the anniversary of the modern poet of the Luhansk region Vasyl Starun was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
On November 7, with the support of the Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore, students from the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications and other university departments gathered in the museum hall. The purpose of the literary event under the symbolic name “Twelve gates of the Poet’s Word” was the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the modern Ukrainian writer Vasyl Starun.
The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Tetiana Pinchuk addressed the former graduate of the Luhansk Pedagogical Institute and now the well-known poet of the Luhansk region and noted the important role of the poet in the development of modern Ukrainian literature.
Kateryna Glukhovtseva, a former groupmate of the poet, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor, head of the Department of Ukrainian Philology and General Linguistics, shared warm memories of her student years.
Vasyl Starun is a famous poet not only in the Luhansk region, but also in Canada, the United States, England, Germany, Romania, and Slovakia. He is a member of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine, the literary group of palidromists “Heraclitus”, the Association of Ukrainian Writers, the winner of the Volodymyr Sosiura Prize, Hryhorii Skovoroda Prize, awarded with the honorary distinction of the National Union of Writers of Ukraine. His poems are translated into English, Italian, Polish and Russian. And he has a special style of poetic words.
The participants and organizers of the event managed to make the literary event as informative and useful for the listeners as possible. Students read poems of the writer, looked through the pages of the biography. An interesting addition was the presentation. According to the organizers of the event, soon there will come a time of universal rethinking and analysis of the work of this writer, and he made will be a categorical argument of the Ukrainian nature of the Luhansk region, a high poetic and cultural sphere, which our contemporaries would have to continue.
