Meeting with a two-time winner

A meeting with a two-time winner of the III Youth Olympic Games was held at the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports.
The Institute of Physical Education and Sports hospitably opened its doors for everyone to congratulate the two-time winner of the III Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires (Argentina) Sofia Lyskun, who attended the event together with the Director of the Luhansk Regional Sports School “Olympic Hope” Natalia Barchishak.
The 16-year-old Sophia Lyskun, the only representative of the Luhansk region as part of the Ukrainian national team, adequately represented our region at such a large-scale youth forum of our time – Youth Olympic Games. She received two awards at these competitions. She received two awards: a silver medal in individual diving competitions (10 m) and a bronze medal in the team competitions.
Representatives of the LOO NOC of Ukraine, headed by Viktor Ostretsov, the Ukrainian Olympic Academy Serhii Galii and the Luhansk region pentathlon team together with the coaches Yulia and Yurii Tregubov also came to meet with Sofia.
The Director of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports Yurii Poluliashchenko opened the event, introduced the athlete and told those present about her achievements in sports.
All those present listened with interest to Sophia’s story about how she began practicing diving, about her impressions of performing at competitions of such high level as the Olympic Games, about her plans for the future. All interested persons asked questions and communicated with Sophia with respect and delight.
Viktor Ostretsov and Serhii Galii thanked the young athlete for participating in the event, stressed the significance of the victories of such athletes as Sophia Lyskun for the support and development of youth sports in the Luhansk region, wished the athlete health and new victories.
At the end of the event, Sofia took part in the awards ceremony for the winners and prizewinners of the Spartakiad competitions of the basketball competition at the IPES.
Also, Yurii Poluliashchenko and Viktor Ostretsov were awarded for the development of powerlifting in the Luhansk region.
Then there were flowers, gifts from those present and a photo session with the champion.
