Championships dedicated to the memory of the People’s Hero of Ukraine

The Championships dedicated to the memory of the People’s Hero of Ukraine, the participant of the ATO Temur Yuldashev was held at the ER IPES.

On October 27-28, a record number of participants (almost 130 athletes) gathered at the Institute of Physical Education and Sports. Here was held the Championships of the Luhansk region on the classic bench press among all age groups and the Regional Powerlifting Cup dedicated to the memory of the People’s Hero of Ukraine, ATO participant Temur Yuldashev.

Participants of the competition were welcomed by the Deputy Department of Youth and Sports of Luhansk Regional Administration Oleksii Bloskin and Chairman of the LOO NOC of Ukraine, Head of the LOO of the Committee on Physical Education and Sports of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Viktor Ostretsov.

Competitions for the Cup were held in a hard, intense fight. According to the results of the competition, teams of the cities of Rubizhne, Popasna, Lysychansk among women, and teams of the cities of Rubizhne, Popasna, Bilovodsk among men became winners and prize-winners. The challenge Temur Yuldashev Cup for the third time in a row was won by the team of the city of Rubizhne.

The bench press competitions were qualifying for participation in the Ukrainian Championships among athletes of all age groups. The most successful were the performances of our graduates and potential applicants:

• Serhii Parkhomenko (the city of Severodonetsk) – 1st place in the Championships;
• Yulia Grigorenko (the city of Rubizhne) – 1st place in the Championships;
• Mykhailo Shapovalov (the city of Kreminna) – 1st place in the Championships;
• Oleksandr Dubovoi (the city of Rubizhne) – 1st place in the Cup and 2nd place in the Championships;
• Kristina Leonenko (the city of Popasna) – 1st place in the Cup and in the Championships.

We hope that all of them will adequately represent the Luhansk region at the Cup of Ukraine, which will be held in the city of Kolomyya (November 16-18, 2018).

Students of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in the competition. Andrii Redko, 2nd year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture” took the 3rd place in the Championships; Oleksii Shkursky, 2nd year student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports” took the 3rd place; Mykyta Rodenko, 2nd year master student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Education”, won the 3rd place in the bench press; Stanislav Zhos, 2nd year master student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”, took the 3rd place in the Cup and fulfilled the standard “Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine”; Yury Krakhmal, 1st year master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports” took the 3rd place in the Championships.

It should be noted that the judging panel and the brigade of competition assistants were mainly made up of teachers and students of the Educational and Research of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports.
