Championship of Luhansk region

The city of Kreminna hosted the Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships for adults in the Luhansk region, which was the qualifier for participation in the Ukrainian Cup.

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports showed the best results in different weight categories and won 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.

In the category of 67 kg, a second-year student (specialty “Physical Education and Sports. Sport”) Mykyta Pervomaiskyi was the best. His groupmate Danylo Korchma won gold in the category of 77 kg. Oleg Kovalev, 1st year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical culture” went to the first step of the pedestal in the category up to 97 kg.

Silver medals were won by the first-year students (specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”) Artem Podakin (in the category of 87 kg) and Sviatoslav Kalashnikov (in the category of 130 kg). The second-year student majoring in “Secondary Education. Physical Education” Stanislav Maltsev won the bronze medal in the category of 82 kg.

All winners and prizewinners of the Championships of the Luhansk region won the right to participate in the Ukrainian Cup, which will be held in November, in the city of Mykolaiv.

Students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports not only took part in competitions in various sports, but also were as coaches. So, the master student majoring in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports” Andrii Alekseev has been working as a boxing coach for several years. During this time, he has trained a number of boxers who won prizes at the All-Ukrainian competitions.

In the Championship of Ukraine among juniors (the city of Pokrovsk), Andrii’s students represented the Luhansk region and won 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in different weight categories.
