Rectorial Election

Rectorial election has started today, on May 14, at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University according to the order of the MES of Ukraine.
Elective representatives from among the university employees (scientific, science-and-pedagogical and pedagogical workers) and among the students have been chosen to take part in the election at Luhansk National University. Election district were organized as well. So, since 9 in the morning the voters have already gathered to vote at the first election district – at Starobilsk lyceum. “We hope for the will expression of every student and teacher,” – said the Deputy Chair of the organizing committee Olena Karaman.
LNU rector candidate is Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Serhii Viktorovych Savchenko. Until this time the contender has acted for the rector of the university which was evacuated to Starobilsk last year.
At the end of April within the election campaign the candidate had a number of meetings with colleagues of university subdivisions. There Serhii Viktorovych answered the questions and introduced the main points of his program consisted of four blocks:
- Educational activity
- Scientific activity
- Social and Humanitarian field
- Informational technologies
The election were appointed on May 14 due to announcement of competition by the MES of Ukraine (the order No. 50 – K as of 20.02.2015) to fill a vacancy of rector of SI “Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University” and will last for 15 hours.
