In Support of Peace and Unity

Any region of Ukraine has not left out a large-scale action in support of peace and unity in the country.

Blooming spring awakened not only nature but also human hearts to the new challenges. Starobilsk with special patriotism came to the organization of the solemn holiday – the world Day of Victory over fascism in the World War II. On May 8, 2015 LTSNU, Starobilsk Faculty of Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and vocational lyceum took part in the organization of the sign flash mob that started a new tradition of celebrating the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation.

Under the slogan “East and West together: Ukraine is United” youth of Starobilshchyna came together for a common goal: to demonstrate the unity of the Ukrainian nation. Live Ukrainian flag of yellow and blue balloons was raised above the city with loud applause of the viewers. Thus, having beaten last year’s record in Kiev, they established a new one – 1990 balloons lighted up the city with patriotic colors.

The patriotic event was attended by the Head of Starobilsk District State Administration Anatoliy Ivanovych Harkavyi and the Head of Starobilsk District Veterans Organization Serhii Mykolaiovych Voloshyn. Also the action was supported by the participants of military operations in ATO zone.

Very emotional atmosphere filled the central square during the reading of letters from children from all over the country in which they expressed their desire for unity and unwavering faith in a better future.

The solemn event was ended with awarding militarists and rescue workers with Medals of Honor.
