LNU Volunteers Congratulated Veterans

Starobilsk veterans were congratulated on the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory with flowers, postcards and words of gratitude.
On the eve of the holiday the administration of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University and volunteers visited defenders of Motherland. “We presented veterans with food gift baskets for the holiday table. We doubted a lot but finally decided to stay with food. We believe that this is the best variant due to the current prices” – they noted at the university.
Veterans reacted on a visit and gifts in different ways: someone felt sad a little, someone was glad. But they recalled the war and Victory with a smile. One of the veterans Ivan Andriiovych Mezherytskyi told how he had been liberating his native Ukraine, Belarus, Moldavia and Hungary from fascists at seventeen.
LNU mentioned they helped veterans not only on holidays. “Our volunteers always arrange meetings with our wards, so to speak. They help in the work around the house if it is necessary or make other things, – tells the Dean of Starobilsk Faculty of LNU Mykola Vykhvatenko. Just recently our students-hairdressers have visited all veterans and provided the necessary service for free. We try to pay as much attention as possible to such people so that they know: we remember them, we are proud of them!”
