Excursion to the library

Students of the Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism visited the Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. Gorky.

September 27, students of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism together with the Deputy Director for Social and Humanitarian Work Chumak M.M. visited the Luhansk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. Gorky. The library has been operating in Starobilsk since 2014. Now it is successfully developing in the direction of library and information business.

During the excursion, students learned about the structure of the library, literary funds, useful novelties in the field of scientific and fiction literature. Also, students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the Department of Foreign Literature, which collaborates with the international organization Window on America. The library is a modern institution with new methods in the organization of its work. That is why the library is popular with young people. In addition to having a large amount of original scientific and fiction literature, the library also has the opportunity to watch popular science films, participate in discussion forums on issues that are most relevant to young people, and join literary and musical evenings. Also in the library are constantly held seminars and workshops, communicating with volunteers and representatives of public organizations.

At the end of the event, the students thanked the library staff for an interesting excursion and shared their impressions. After visiting this library they clearly saw that the modern library can and should be an interesting place for young people to spend their time.
