“Makhno’s Capital”

Recently an interactive lecture “Makhno’s Capital” was held in the framework of the celebration of the City Day of Starobilsk in the “STB City Park”.

The event was prepared by teachers and students of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences. Doctor of Historical Sciences, Head of the Department of History of Ukraine A.V. Naboka gave a lecture in which he revealed the circumstances of the stay of the anarchist rebel movement Nestor Makhno in Starobilsk city in 1921. Among the “highlights” of the event were theatrical performances, which revealed certain events in the life of the legendary “Dad”.

Scenes were prepared by members of the youth public group “Inventors”. So they showed their theatrical talents M. Vlaikov (N. Makhno), D. Cherevata (Lisa Makhno), O. Glukhov, I. Osipchenko (members of the Makhno’s detachment). The main inspiration and organizer of the event was E. Kotelenets. As A.V. Naboka mentioned, on the basis of the ER IHIRSPS, experiments have been conducted for a long time, aimed at turning the lecture from a purely academic, educational event into a spectacle. The first incarnations of such projects took place in Luhansk. The lecturer noted that he was pleased to present the results of his experiments to the residents of Starobilsk.

Partners of the event were the city head of Starobilsk Y. Litvinova, the City Council, Luhansk Regional Museum of Local Lore, photographer O. Chernysh, “STB City Park”.
