The Political and Legal Discussion Club of the Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences conducted a survey of students.

Members of the Political and Legal Discussion Club of the Educational and Research Institute of History, International Relations and Socio-Political Sciences conducted a survey of students at the University and College to determine the level of political and legal education of the latter. For the purposes of the survey, the following tasks were set: to assess the general level of knowledge of students in the political and legal sphere of society and their rights and freedoms; determine the appropriateness of conducting and the topic of meetings of political and legal educational activities at the University under the auspices of the Club; determine the level of interest of students to participate in political and legal education activities.

Summarizing the survey results showed that students know their rights and freedoms, but only 29% are ready to defend them, 39% are ready to respond to violations depending on the situation. Almost half of the students surveyed (48%) are ready to go to court if legal problems arise. According to the survey results, the range of the most legal issues on which students require more legal information is defined: protection of human rights, labor legislation, legal and organizational bases of student self-government, and problems of social security. An analysis of the answers to the question “Where do you get political and legal information from?” showed that 65% of students named the Internet source, without specifying the sites. The percentage of students receiving information from friends and relatives was high enough.

In the questionnaires, students submitted their proposals for forms of conducting political and educational activities, including the creation of public legal educational programs, committees for the provision of legal information and assistance. The results of the survey of students showed a significant interest in studying legal and political problems in the framework of academic disciplines, is caused by the desire of young people to be active members of Ukrainian society.
