Achievements in international activities

The number of foreign students at the University annually grows thanks to the hard work of our teachers and staff.

One of the important directions of the university work is international activity, which is aimed at spreading the process of its integration into the world educational space.

Until 2014, when our University was in the city of Luhansk, a large number of foreigners studied at the institution. However, due to the tragic events in the east of Ukraine, which stirred Luhansk region, the number of foreign citizens studying in our higher institution decreased noticeably.

Today thanks to the hard work of teachers and staff representatives of foreign countries who have already become part of a large university family are studying at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

Recently, representatives of the People’s Republic of China passed entrance examinations for postgraduate study. Three foreigners who in different years became graduates of the Faculty of Foreign Languages, the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports and the Educational and Research Institute of Culture and Arts, decided to continue their studies in their native Alma Mater.

Foreigners pass the same examinations as the citizens of Ukraine. Representatives of the People’s Republic of China passed exams on philosophy, foreign language and special discipline.

Today, foreigners live in the university hostel, where the necessary conditions for living and studying are created.

Young scientists during their first year studies in the postgraduate courses will implement the educational program, and the next three years will devote to writing of the scientific work.

All structural subdivisions of the University work on attracting foreign students. This year more than 100 foreigners entered the Foreign Languages Faculty, most of whom are representatives of Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and China.

The most popular specialties among foreign citizens are “Secondary Education. Language and literature (German, English)”,” Secondary Education. Language and Literature (French, English)”, “Secondary Education. Language and Literature (Russian, English).”

Teachers plan to continue cooperation with other countries. The cooperation with the Arab states is very promising because the Faculty of Foreign Languages offers some specialties where students study Arabic language.

Tense work on attracting foreigners to study at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University continues. Teachers and staff of the institution make efforts to ensure that the conditions of the educational process for representatives of foreign countries were comfortable, and the quality of acquired knowledge met European requirements.
