Beginning of the Spartakiad

The ER IPES held the first competitions of the Spartakiad – track and field cross. 

Here students of the Institute took part, presenting their course and specialty. The girls overcame the distance of 1 km, the boys ran 2 km over the rough terrain of the Kreminna forest.

The best among the girls were Yulia Zhigailova, 3rd-year student specializing in “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”- I place; Valeria Ryzhkova, 4th-year student specializing in “Human Health” – II place; Olena Reva, first-year (with a reduced term of study) specializing in “Secondary Education. Physical Culture” took the III place.

Prize places in the race among the young men were divided between first-year students: Oleksii Makarovets (specialty “Secondary Education. Physical Culture”) became the winner of the race; II place was taken by Bohdan Samarin (specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sport”); III place was taken by Maksym Radchenko (specialty “Physical Culture and Sports. Sports”).

The winners and prizewinners received certificates and tasty prizes from the Olympic champion in the relay race 4 × 100 m in the national team of the USSR Viktor Bryzgin and the Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports Yurii Poluliashchenko.
