LNU Guarantees Quality Inclusive Education
5.5.2015
Inclusive education under the conditions of evacuation was considered during the round-table meeting “Youth and Children with Disabilities in Risk Situation. Article 11 of UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities”.
Head of Marketing Department of LNU Ihor Lysenko and Head of Student Social Service Olena Dorohavtseva took active part in the meeting.
Despite the fact that all material and technical resources were left in occupied Luhansk, due to the developed technologies and high-skilled specialists LNU managed to save inclusive education even in this forced evacuation.
Today educational process is arranged in full-time and remote mode. “This allows us to perform training of specialists during the whole academic year but doesn’t require continuous presence of a student in the lecture room, this is the insistent need for students with special needs. There is a special approach to the each of such students at LNU. For instance, the event is held in the remote mode for those who are not able to come for the session and those who can come for the lessons attend them several times a year. Such form of education provides quality training of specialists during the whole academic year,” – explained Ihor Oleksandrovych.
Education in such format is suitable almost for all categories of students. There are special conditions and individual technologies for the students with special needs. This is a unique system for remote education the university has worked on since 2002. Different stages of its development are awarded with three golden medals at the international exhibitions. Besides, this program is approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in 2015.
Also the event provided information about work of public organizations on a problem of migrated disabled persons, children and youth with disabilities that stayed at the occupied territories.
The event was organized by the Department of Youth and Sports of Luhansk Regional State Administration, “Luhansk Regional Center of Socio-Cultural Adaptation of Youth with Disabilities” supported by Luhansk Regional State Administration, Luhansk Regional Department of Social Protection of Disabled Persons, Luhansk Regional Center for Physical Culture and Sports of Disabled Persons “Invasport”, National Assembly of Disabled Persons of Ukraine, UNICEF.
