I sincerely congratulate you on the Day of the National Flag of Ukraine.

For many centuries, the blue-yellow flag inspired the sons of the Ukrainian people to fight for their own freedom and independence. Our flag became a symbol of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, later – the Western Ukrainian People’s Republic. On January 22, 1919, under this flag a historic event took place – the union of both young states into a single conciliar Ukraine.

Today, our state demonstrates a strong desire to reform all spheres of life, to adopt democratic European values. In the difficult times of the information and military aggression, our victory in this uncompromising struggle for the future of the Ukrainian state depends on professionalism, responsibility and patriotism of each of us.

I am convinced that by overcoming huge political, military and economic resistance we will be able to build a free, democratic and socially-just state.
