International Field Day – 2018

On August 17, 2018, the International Field Day-2018 was held at the Institute of Grain Cultures of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences Natalia Matsai, head of the Department of Biology and Agronomy Serhii Masliiov and Associate Professor of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education Oleksandr Beseda.

About 120 people attended the event: Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Viktor Sheremet, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Plant Industry of the NAAS Petro Kondratenko, Director of the Institute of Grain Cultures of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Anatolii Cherenkov, representatives of the regional departments of agro-industrial development, specialists of agroholdings, seed farms and other institutions.

During the event, participants visited demonstration and technology sites where hybrids of corn of the NAAS selection, foreign selection, varieties and sorghum hybrids and innovative technological developments of the Institute were presented. Scientists and representatives of enterprises took an active part in the discussion of various issues on breeding, seed production, creation of source material, technology of cultivation, collection, processing and storage of corn seeds.

Information materials, recommendations, booklets, price lists with proposals for the purchase of seed material of agricultural crops for the harvest of 2019 were handed to the participants.
