Reception of field experiments

On June 23, the traditional annual reception of field experiments conducted in the framework of scientific topics of researchers, post-graduate students in the specialty 201 “Agronomics” was held.
The commission consisted of the administration and heads of the training departments of the Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University checked the condition of the experimental demonstration plots of corn and sunflower crops, which are conducted under the supervision of the head of the Department of Biology and Agronomy, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor S.V. Masliev.
During the demonstration of experiments, the head of the scientific school told about the peculiarities of studying and the relevance of the study of agrobiological and technological parameters of growing corn and sunflower in the conditions of the steppe zone of Ukraine. The purpose of carrying out field experiments of our scientists is to solve the following issues: determination of agrobiological features of growth, development and formation of yields of corn food subspecies; development of measures to increase the effectiveness of mineral and bacterial fertilizers; revealing the influence of methods of primary and pre-tillage on the yield of food subspecies of maize; determination of corn yield depending on the timing and methods of sowing and seeding rates; establishing the effectiveness of combining mechanical and chemical measures of weed control in crops of food subspecies of maize. In the experiments, new perspective varieties and hybrids of corn and sunflower domestic selection were used.
The postgraduate students N. A. Tsygankova and V. V. Stepanov presented the results of their own developments on optimization of technologies for growing food maize and sunflower in order to increase the productivity of these crops and obtain high-quality products.
Summer is a busy time for scientists and agricultural workers. The university staff wishes our agronomists-scientists inspiration and fruitful further activity.
