A planned meeting of the Commission for Social and Humanitarian Work was held at the University.

The main goal of the event was summarizing the results of social and humanitarian work of all structural subdivisions for the academic year. This year, an unusual form of briefing was chosen for the traditional event, during which each speaker could present achievements in the work and ask pressing questions to his colleagues.

The briefing was attended by deputy directors / deans for social and humanitarian work of institutes / faculties and isolated structural subdivisions of the University, as well as representatives of the student social service of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev addressed all those present. He noted the important role of social and humanitarian work, focused on the results of the university activities for the academic year and outlined the tasks for the future.

Representatives of all structural subdivisions of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University presented reports on social and humanitarian work, focusing on achievements and problems in the work.

The peculiarities of work with military personnel were told by the deputy director for social and humanitarian work of the Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology Vira Pushko. She noted that an individual approach to each student, especially a military student, allows solving a number of basic tasks of the institute’s work. In addition, the active involvement of servicemen in carrying out cultural events supports the social adaptation of servicemen and creates a positive image among students.

The deputy dean for social and humanitarian work of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications Nadiia Karlova emphasized the use of synthetic forms in the activities of the Faculty. So, during the year creative competitions were held, aimed at both students and pupils, which made it possible to realize the main tasks of career-oriented work. The teacher told about the “chamber events” held at the Faculty, the participation in which allows implementing educational tasks. The deputy dean stressed that holding so called cooperative activities together with other structural subdivisions helps to develop corporate culture among university students.

The system of study of local lore work with student youth was presented by the deputy director for social and humanitarian work of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism M.M. Chumak. He noted that a new tradition in the structural subdivision was a permanent meeting with the military chaplain, representatives of the Security Service, law enforcement agencies, etc.

The deputy dean for social and humanitarian work of the Faculty of Natural Sciences A.V. Livatski spoke about a series of organized flash mobs and environmental actions, which reflect the specifics of the activities of the structural subdivision.

The deputy director of the Educational and Research Institute of Economy and Business S.М. Donchenko acquainted the audience with the innovations in the current system of social and humanitarian work.

The deputy director for social and humanitarian work of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies V.V. Matievsky drew attention to events held in conjunction with a separate subdivision “Rubizhne Polytechnic College named after A.E. Porai-Koshytsia.” The deputy director of the last I.A. Vitovska acquainted those present with the peculiarities of the work of the curators of student groups and topics of the events held.

The Chairman of the Commission for Social and Humanitarian Work Iryna Koteneva noted the active work of the structural subdivisions and announced the publication of a collection of normative and methodological materials, which is intended to help in the organization of social and humanitarian work at the University.

At the end of the briefing, the teachers summed up and identified the main areas of work for the next academic year.
