Streetball Tournament

On the eve of the Victory Day, the city of Starobilsk hosted a streetball tournament.

This kind of sport that appeared in the US and quickly spread around the world. Streetball comes from basketball.  It is mostly played on the street on one ring; usually teams have three players.

The current tournament in Starobilsk gathered 10 teams, one of which was the combined team of our University. A great basketball fan, a teacher of physical education of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College Evgen Reshetilo invited to the team students of the IPES Vitalii Kondratiuk and Dmytro Karpenko, as well as the future student of the University Oleksandr Kulachka. Our team confidently defeated its rivals in the group “A”: “FK-1” with the score of 14:3, and then “Jazz” 14:4, “BEMS” and “Sonin” with a score of 11:4 and 11:7. Our team took the first place in the group and group reached the final where they faced the streetball team from Severodonetsk – “Rooks”.

The intense duel ended in favor of more experienced streetball players from Severodonetsk. The game ended with a score of 15:8 in favor of “Rooks”, they became the winners of the tournament.

For the second place, our team received a diploma and a cash prize of 500 UAH from the organizers of the tournament.
