“My Family in Vyshyvanka”

Luhansk National University summed up the results of the photo contest “My Family in Vyshyvanka”.

Vyshyvanka is a symbol of unity, national dignity, disobedience and family comfort. On the eve of the World Vyshyvanka Day, LTSNU invited everybody to join the photo contest on the theme: “My Family in Vyshyvanka”. The event has already become traditional and is aimed at the development and popularization of Ukrainian culture, stimulating the creative, cognitive and social activity of citizens.

A prerequisite for participating in the competition were photographs that depicted a person or a group of people dressed in embroidered shirts. In addition, creativity and non-standard thinking, a combination of subjects of the Ukrainian culture were considered.

The professional jury composed of the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Babichev, Software Engineer of the Department of Educational Laboratories and Computer Classes Anna Kovalenko, Chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, Head of the Department of Computer Graphics and Design Halyna Komirenko, Specialist of the first category Oleg Chernysh.

A photo of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications won in the nomination “Creative Family”. The students majoring in “Journalism” signed a photo “The friendly journalistic family of LNU” and attracted elements of Ukrainian culture and people’s life. The Educational and Research Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology won in the nomination “Modern Family”. They pleased with a photo with beautiful girls dressed in embroidered shirts.

The winner in the nomination “Family Traditions” was the family of Nadiia Karlova dressed in embroideries, which are more than 30 years old. In the nomination the “Big Family” the winner became the Faculty of Natural Sciences. Their numerous and cheerful collective presented a photo with the title “We and nature are one family”. The jury determined the work of Anna Kovalenko, engineer-programmer of the first category of the Department of Educational Laboratories and Computer Classes as the “Ukrainian beauty”.

The first place was taken by the Head of the Marketing Department Iryna Bakhmet with her daughter Kira.

The second place – the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism.

The third place was shared by the first-year academic group of the ER ICSTT and the family of Oleksandr Sylkin, the programming engineer of the Programming Department.

The best works were awarded with prizes, which were given by the Primary Trade Union Organization of the University.

Our ancestors believed that vyshyvanka is a symbol of health, beauty, happiness and love. Let us wear it more often! The bright, stylish clothes attract attention and bring positive emotions and a feeling of unity!
