Festival of humor “League of Laughter”

The traditional humor festival “League of Laughter” was held at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University. 

As you know, laugh prolongs life. For the sake of this important mission, after a four-year break, this event kicked off with renewed vigor in the university with the support of the Primary Trade Union Organization.

Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University has always united active creative youth, which took part in traditional games of KVN. Such well-known teams as “Voroshilovskiye Strelki”, “100%”, “Va-Bank”, started their activity exactly within the walls of LTSNU. Oleksandr Bragin, Andrii Yakovlev and Evgen Koshevoi, who are now famous comedians in Ukraine, also were students of our University.

Continuing the glorious traditions, this year the humorous game, which today has a new name – “League of Laughter”, was renewed Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University after a long break. Students of each structural subdivision teamed up to joke, demonstrate acting skills and give a good mood to the audience.

After long weeks of intense preparation, the youth heard the traditional: “Teams, on the stage!”. All participants made significant efforts to demonstrate creativity and impress the competent jury. The theme of the festival program is “LTSNU in Starobilsk”. Participants of the game competed in three contests: “Welcome”, “Biathlon” and “Homework.” Students joked about the life of young people, student adventures, local color and modern problems of public life. Young people also recalled the difficult times of evacuation, when the University was forced to continue its educational activities in the new city. But students are optimistic about the future and dream of returning to their native Luhansk.

Jokes, actor’s skills and improvisation of collectives were assessed by the impartial jury.

Giving from the stage the joy of the audience, jokers in return received from the audience a huge charge of life energy, positive, cheerfulness, the desire to live and create.

According to the results, the 1st place in the festival was won by the team “The Fifth Floor: Only the Stars Are Higher” (Faculty of Natural Sciences), the second place – “Spilka Prykolnyh Zhurnalistiv” (Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications) and “Keks” (Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College) , III place – “Two and a half dwarfs” (College of LTSNU).

According to the chairman of the Primary Trade Union Organization Volodymyr Moroz, today’s game is only the beginning of the revival of the student league, not only at the University, but also in the Luhansk region.
