All-Ukrainian Pupils Olympiad

From March 25-30, 2018, the IV stage of the XXXVІ All-Ukrainian Pupils Olympiad in labor training / technology was held in the city of Kamianets-Podilskyi.
The head of the Department of Production Technologies and Professional Education of the Educational and Research Institute of Commerce, Serving Technologies and Tourism, Associate Professor Viktor Burdun was appointed as the jury of the Olympiad by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
83 pupils, including 36 pupils of 9th grades (19 boys and 17 girls) and 47 pupils of 11th grades (22 boys and 25 girls) participated in the final stage.
The final stage consisted of three rounds: theoretical, creative and complex work.
The comprehensive work included a combination of practical work with the use of ICT. Girls of the 9th grade modeled and manufactured a pillow for a pet, girls of the 11th grade – a city backpack. Boys of the 9th grade modeled and manufactured a chair, boys of the 11th grade – a board for serving dishes.
The participants made creative projects in accordance with the task: technical types of work – key chains (9 grades) and cases for flash drives (11 grades), serving types of work – cupcakes (9 grades) and pies (11 grades).
The jury team, headed by Viktor Burdun evaluated all the work of participants in the competition objectively.
As a result of the assignment, the best results were shown by the participants of the Kirovograd, Sumy and Khmelnytsky regions. The team of Luhansk region, which consisted of three members, took 10th place in the team. Two students received a diploma of the winner of the third degree.
The course of the competition was constantly covered in Facebook. Also, an auction was organized for products that were manufactured at the Olympiad. The money collected at the auction will go to purchase materials and tools for the next Olympiad. As a result of the Olympiad, the publishing house Ranok will publish a book with photographs and descriptions of the pupils’ work.
