Conference of journalists in Starobilsk

On April 12, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Internet Conference “Mass Media of Ukraine at the Turn of the Epochs: Realities and Development Prospects” was held in the library of the LTSNU.
The Conference was organized by the Department of Journalism and Publishing at the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications, headed by Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department A.O. Galych.
In his opening remarks, he noted that the Department for the first time conducts a conference in evacuation conditions and this is a good sign, an indication that we are moving in the right direction, as the last time such a conference was held in Luhansk in November 2013. In total about 50 participants from different regions of Ukraine took part in the conference, namely from Kyiv, Rivne, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kremenchug, Berdiansk, Mariupol, Starobilsk.
The conference was attended by the Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work L. Ts. Vakhovsky and Candidate of Philology, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology, T.S. Pinchuk. The Professor Leonid Vakhovsky noted the relevance of the problems of the conference, stressed the importance of holding such events.
The first at the plenary session were: the founder of the Department of Journalism and Publishing at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University V.N. Galych, and A.A. Galych – Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Public Administration, Documentation and Information Activities of the National University of Water Management and Nature Resources (Rivne). The theme of their speeches is as follows: “The reception of the media in the memoir of Oles Honchar as a reflection of the author’s national consciousness”; “Journalism in the quasi-documentary creativity of B. Akunin.”
The following were the speeches of A.N. Kholod, Academician of IASP, Doctor of Philology, Professor of the Department of Journalism of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Ivano-Frankivsk) “The Ukrainian-Language Press in the Political Crisis of 1917 on the Territory of Ukraine (the Ratio of Press Content and Periods of Political Activity)”; N.M. Fedotova, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Marketing Department of the National University of Food Technologies (Kyiv) “Transformation of Mass Communication: Signs of Change”; A.M. Nosko, Candidate of Science in Social Communications, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Social Communications of the Berdiansk State Pedagogical University (Berdiansk) “Training Journalists in the Regions: the Experience of the Berdyansk State Pedagogical University”.
At the sectional sessions the report of the Head of the Department, Doctor of Philology, Assistant Professor A.A. Galych was heard on the topic “Problems of Internally Displaced Persons in Mass Media”, as well as students of the University Karina Narozhna, 2nd year student majoring in “Journalism” of the educational program “Publishing and Editing” “Features of Editing Children’s Newspaper and Magazine Editions”; Taras Khutrenko, 2nd year student majoring in “Journalism” of the educational program “Publishing and Editing” “Features of Editing Sports Newspaper and Magazine Publications”; Tetiana Tsarevska, 2nd year student majoring in “Journalism” of the educational program “Publishing and Editing” “Features of Editing the Thematic Structure of Analytical Genres”; Danylo Chernichenko, 2nd year student majoring in “Journalism” “The System of Categorization of the Starobilsk District Newspaper of the Post-War Years as an Indicator of Thematic-Ideological Evolution of the Publication”; Yaroslav Yakovenko, 1st year student majoring in”Journalism” “The Influence of the “Fourth Power” on the Election of the President of Ukraine 2005 Viktor Yushchenko”; Olena Smitanina, 2nd year student majoring in “Journalism” “Development of Radio Journalism in Ukraine at the Turn of the 20th – 21st century”; Oleg Chernysh, master student majoring in “Journalism” of the educational program “Advertising” “Features of the Organization of Promotional Activities in the ZVO”; Maryna Chumakova, 3rd year student majoring in “Journalism” “The study of the Press of Western Ukraine at the Beginning of the 20th Century in the Context of the Formation of the Ukrainian National Idea.”
The students of our University will use this knowledge, experience when preparing scientific theses, articles, photo reports in the printed and Internet media. All this will help in the future creative profession of a journalist.
