All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics

In March, the first round of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Mathematics among students of higher educational institutions of Ukraine took place.

This stage of the competition was held by the Department of Algebra and System Analysis of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.

The Olympiad was held in the city of Rubizhne on the basis of the Educational and Research Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Information Technologies. The students of all courses and master students of the IPMIT were invited to participate in the Olympiad. They were asked to test themselves in in mathematical analysis, algebra and number theory, geometry and probability theory.

The results of the Olympiad are as follows:

• I place – Yulia Lyguta (second-year student, specialty “Secondary Education: Mathematics, Computer Science”),
• II place – Hanna Kryvushyna (second-year student, specialty “Secondary Education: Mathematics, Computer Science”),
• III place – Mykhailo Lysko (first-year student, specialty: “Secondary Education: Mathematics”).
