Two infinities

On March 19, Lina Vasylivna Kostenko celebrates her 88th anniversary (“two infinities”). Her genius will remain invaluable forever in words, songs, thoughts, feelings …

The favorite poetic lines of the writer gathered in a cozy audience at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University the admirers of her talent, and the each of those present had their own metaphorical “wings”.

Everyone has her own Lina Kostenko, and any “niche” of our time is miserable for her: sixties, human rights activist, poetess, prose writer, writer, wife, mother, grandmother, friend … This person is a universe of colors, experiences, aspirations. Sincere, light emotions overwhelmed those present.

Poetry was performed by students and teachers of the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology and Social Communications and the Faculty of Natural Sciences, the College of LTSNU and the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College; as well as romances and songs to the words of L. Kostenko performed by Olga Bogomolets, Jamala, Vitalii Kozlovsky, Belarusian punk rock band “BRUTTO”. Her work will inspire many on winged flights. The meeting touched everyone’s soul, and the student’s questions “When will we meet yet?” confirmed the words of the poetess: “I do not like the unlucky ones. I am happy. My freedom is always with me.”
