Students and teachers of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Human Health of the Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in a training session on gender discrimination.
On March 14, students and teachers of the Department of Physical Rehabilitation and Human Health of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports took part in the training “Gender and Discrimination”, which took place within the framework of the project “Promoting the restoration and sustainable solution of the problems of internally displaced persons and the conflict-affected population of Ukraine”, which is being implemented by the International Organization for Migration with the financial support of the European Union. The event was held by the Youth Organization “STAN” in partnership with the public organization “Theater for Dialogue” with the participation of trainers Yaroslav Minkin and Olesya Arkhipova in the Kreminna district centralized library system.
During the training, positive and negative stereotypes existing in modern Ukrainian society were considered, as well as the process of their transformation into prejudiced attitudes and discrimination. On specific examples, participants were presented with four criteria for discrimination: violation of rights and freedoms, existence of a certain protected feature, absence of a legitimate objective goal and the non-observance of the principle of proportionality between the goal and the means of achieving it. In addition, some issues of gender-oriented budgeting as an effective tool for achieving gender equality were discussed.
At the end of the event, participants of the training in a theatrical form demonstrated their vision of the gender problems existing in the Kreminna community, and also suggested ways of their solution.
Thanks to the organizers, coaches and participants, it was interesting!
