Shevchenko in the hearts of LTSNU
14.3.2018
A solemn event dedicated to the 204th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth took place at Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University.
The name of Taras Grygorovych is known throughout the world as a symbol of the Ukrainian people. There was no such artist in Ukraine, a fiery patriot, a devoted fighter for the future of the nation. For many generations of the Ukrainians Taras Shevchenko means so much that an illusion is created that we know everything about him, we all understand him, and he is always with us, in us. However, this is only an illusion. Shevchenko as a great and eternal phenomenon is inexhaustible and infinite.
At the solemn event dedicated to the 204th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth, the interesting little-known facts and high poetry alternated with dramatic sketches performed by the concert participants.
The decoration of the meeting was a wreath of Ukrainian folk songs and songs to the verses of the Great Kobzar, performed by Nadiya Protasova, Mykhailo Tretyak, Vladislav Teterev, Dmytro Voronkov, and Serhii Serhienko.
Annually for the celebration and preservation of the memory of the great genius of the Ukrainian people, the popularization of his creative heritage and the report to all corners of the world of the truth about the modern Shevchenko Ukraine, the University is carrying out a number of activities. The today’s solemn concert was the final chord of the Shevchenko week.
The culmination of the action was the awarding of the winners of the competitions held at LTSNU: “Contest of illustrations for the works of Taras Shevchenko”, “Wallpaper Contest “, “Contest of thematic photographs” Sadok vyshnevyi kolo haty”, “Competition of poems dedicated to Taras Shevchenko”, “Contest of expressive reading poetry”.
The students of the Starobilsk Humanitarian and Pedagogical College and the College of Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University were awarded for active participation in all creative contests. The winners of the regional stage of the VIII International Literary Contest of Pupils and Student Youth named after Taras Shevchenko were awarded with diplomas.
In this difficult time for the country, the new generation of Ukraine draws inspiration and hope in the work of the great poet. Many years have passed, but the memory of the Great Kobzar does not fade in the hearts of Ukrainians.
We highly appreciate the creativity of the master of the Ukrainian word, who with his precise poetic word inspired and continues to inspire future generations for new achievements.
