In memory of the Great Kobzar!

On the initiative of the Kreminna District State Administration,was held a thematic event on the occasion of the 204th anniversary of  Taras Shevchenko’s birth. 

Representatives of the Kreminna community, pupils of secondary schools, lyceums and students of the Educational and Research Institute of Physical Education and Sports gathered at the event to pay homage to the memory of the Great Kobzar, to give respect and love to the genius of the Ukrainian people.

The fate of Shevchenko and the fate of Ukraine are inseparable. Shevchenko lived in Ukraine, he suffered for the country. He wrote his immortal prophetic word, affirming the eternal aspiration of the Ukrainian people for freedom.

During the celebration, the deputy head of the District State Administration Larysa Mahur, the chairman of the District Council Volodymyr Prokopenko, the mayor of the city Yuri Prokopenko spoke about this.

Traditionally, during the Shevchenko days there are many of his poetic works. The heads of the district and the city first read the lines from the «Kobzar», later all were invited to join them.

In memory of the outstanding compatriot, all those present laid flowers to the stele with the Taras Shevchenko bas-relief.
