Complex “Physics”

In December 2017, the Physics Cabinet of the Starobilsk Branch of the Regional Center for Vocational Education received a digital measuring complex Einstein “Physics”.

Among the priority directions of the development of education became the introduction of educational innovations and information technologies, provision and strengthening of the material and technical base of education. This essentially relates to the process of teaching physics as an experimental science.

The lesson lasts 45 minutes, 2700 seconds. And how many of them fit … Indeed, how much can fit in 45 minutes!? The lungs of a person will pass 430 liters of air through themselves, blinking of the eyes in the sum will last 220 seconds, under the condition of arterial pressure of a person -120 × 80 mm of mercury, the rate of blood flow in the aorta is 55 cm / s. Did all this data help you to move into the world of physics, where everything is measured and calculated? Niels Bohr, a great physicist and Nobel laureate, said: “Nothing exists until it is measured.”

The lesson conducted by the teacher of the department L.E. Sirenko together with the electronic engineer V.V. Skirtach – the laboratory work number 5 on physics on the subject “Investigations of oscillations of a thread pendulum” with the second-year student  was very unusual. The unusual thing was that the laboratory work was carried out in the modern digital laboratory “Einstein ™”. Purpose: to establish experimentally the dependence of the period and frequency of the oscillations of the thread pendulum on the amplitude of the oscillations, the mass of the load and the length of the filament. The lesson used equipment and visibility: a tripod, a lever, a ruler, a set of weights, a filament, a wireless data logger Einstein LabMate +, an ADC (analog-digital converter), a personal computer, a presentation, a multimedia screen, instructions for doing laboratory work, tables for recording results of experiments.

The Director of the RCVE Mykola Kurylo and colleagues of the department were invited to the open lesson with the use of the digital measuring complex. Mykola Semenovych noted that the lesson with multimedia support, with modern equipment and visibility was emotional, interesting for students, allowed to keep a high rate of work, made it possible to quickly switch to different types of practical activities.

The invitation to the lesson was received with pleasure by the Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine Oleksandr Meniailenko. He noted that such a complex is modern advanced technologies for students and use of digital measurement gives the possibility to increase the development of intellectual-cognitive activity, to master skills, to free up time for analysis of results and generalization of conclusions.

During the discussion of the lesson, the participants noted the high level of the laboratory work. The laboratory is equipped with all modern schemes, instruments, methodological material. Now students will be able both in theory and in practice to study molecular physics, thermodynamics and hydrostatics, electricity and magnetism, optics and the structure of the atom. At the lessons of the natural-mathematical cycle, students can conduct interesting studies.
